Lead Generation on Steroids...

I'm continuing a four part series called "Jump Start Your Revenues in 2006."  Last week we discussed how vital customer data collection and management are to growing your revenues.

This week let's talk about generating more leads to your facility - more golfers, more memberships, and more golf outings and events.  Below are three tips to drive new business to your facility today!

  • Hire a full-time inside sales professional.  Someone that's not scared of the phone, someone that can make 50 to 70 outbound calls a day to prospects, handle inbound requests, and someone that has a proven track record of closing new business.  If you follow our recommended hiring guidelines, you should be able to generate a tenfold return on your investment.

  • Outsource your lead generation.  I don't know of a golf facility that's making 50-70 outbound calls per day, so hire a company to make the necessary calls on your behalf to generate new business leads.  Don't pay for phone calls, pay for leads.  Start small, order 50 leads.  Measure your results.  You should be able to close 10% of the leads within 12 months.  That could easily generate a tenfold return on your investment.

  • Email Leasing and Direct Mail.  Target golfers.  Targeted lists are getting refined every day, so work with a list management company that has golfer specific lists.  To maximize your effectiveness target your campaigns in your shoulder seasons, and realize that the Spring season yields the best results.
