Holiday Gift Ideas that Sell!

Are you doing everything you can to generate revenues this Holiday Season? 

The upcoming Holiday Season is the #1 time of year for online sales.  People are in the spirit of giving and you need to cater to that.  Golf facilities that maintain and promote their online stores during the holidays can generate thousands if not even tens of thousands of dollars during the critical 6 week window leading up to Christmas.

Below are a few fantastic tips that will maximize your revenue potential through Online Sales.

1. Gift Certificates


Gift Certificates are the #1 item(s) to maintain in your Online Store. You should provide your customers choices when it comes to certificates, but not so many that it causes confusion. For this reason, CourseTrends recommends you have 3 specific Gift Certificate amounts available:  $50, $100 and $250.
 
The certificates should always be ordered in ascending fashion. Not wanting to be too cheap, most golfers typically target the middle-dollar amount. Some will even spring for the highest amount.
 

2. Gift Packages

 
Gift Packages are a great way of selling rounds of golf and merchandise. Christmas is the #1 time for Gift Package sales. Give your customers choices by maintaining at least two Gift Packages. 

Birdie Gift Package:  bundle together 1 round of golf with cart along with a logo towel, logo golf-ball and a divot repair tool 

Eagle Gift Package: bundle 3 rounds of golf with cart along with those same items from your Birdie Gift Package and add in a lunch or a logo hat and shirt.
 
Avoid the hassles of packing & shipping by keeping your Gift Packages “certificate-based.” Mail only the Certificate. When the recipient arrives to play their round of golf, you can then hand them the additional package items.

3. Golf Round Packages


If someone wants to buy 1 round of golf from you, why not offer them options to buy more? Golf Round Packages allow your customers to express their continuing loyalty to your facility. 
 
Have a few packages available to choose from: 5, 10, or even 20 or more rounds of golf. Use your peak in-season rack-rate as your base and multiply by the number of rounds in the package.  Add in a value incentive such as 10 rounds for the price of 9 or even 10 rounds with a free $50 Gift Certificate.
