Collect 3,000 email addresses in one month......

The beginning of March is your perfect opportunity to collect a massive amount of opt-in email addresses. It's starting to warm up; golfers are starting to get the itch. Why not take advantage of the situation by capturing 3,000 golfers this month and jump start your email marketing database. It will pay incredible dividends all year.
The Program
Here's what I recommend. Create a promotion registration form like this one - www.bunkerhillgolf.com/specials. Don't put it on your website, but instead print it on flyers that you will pass out at the following:
- Golf Shows - pass out 2,000 and you'll get 1,000 people to register online.
- Golf Retail Shops - don't bother with the national chains but the local ones. Every purchase gets a flyer. Work with 2-3 retail shops and you'll get 1,000 registrations.
- Civic associations - churches, Shriners, men's and women's clubs. Pass out as many as you can and you'll easily get another 500 to 1,000.
- Apartment complexes - work with the apartment managers. There's another 500.
- Door flyers - canvas your local community. Maybe you can't do to "no solicitation", but you can run an ad in the local community paper on the cheap.
The Offer
I'd recommend offering a free weekday green fee with paid cart fee valid for one month. If you're up north, March is a great month to run the program, making the special valid only in April. It's your shoulder season, golfers haven't played in five months and they will need balls, gloves, maybe additional equipment. You have a lot of weekday inventory, so use it.
If you're in a warmer climate, I'd run the program in March or April; however, you may want to change the parameters of the special.
