Alan Stalcup: CEO
Alan is a high-tech industry veteran with extensive experience in growing businesses. Prior to starting CourseTrends, Alan led the expansion of Momentum Software and the launch of the automotive industry's largest online marketing solution. Prior to Momentum, Alan has also served in leadership positions at Dell Computer and worked with Dell Ventures. Prior to his tenure at Dell, Alan worked at Accenture, where he led major enterprise implementations for Kaiser Permanente, Allstate, Quest and USAA. Alan holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
Warner Mizell: Chief Operating Officer
Warner Mizell is responsible for managing CourseTrends' sales, support, and technology operations. Warner has 18+ years experience operating technology-enabled services companies, with market leaders such as EDS and Dell, and with early-stage growth companies such as Bluecurrent, an enterprise software/services company. While at Bluecurrent, Warner led the commercialization phase of a SaaS-oriented line of business, including implementations with BASF, PWC, JPMorgan, Citicorp, and other global clients. After earning his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Warner began his career at Goldman Sachs in corporate finance.
Scot Forbis, PGA: Vice President of Account Services
Scot oversees and manages the account services operation at CourseTrends. Scot is a PGA Member certified in General Management with over 17 years of experience in operating and managing golf courses. After earning his B.S. from George Mason University, he moved to Myrtle Beach and started his golf career at Heather Glen Golf Links. Over the years, Scot continued to expand his golf knowledge as both a Head Golf Professional and General Manager. His work with Atlantic Golf and their Queenstown Harbor, South River and Potomac Ridge properties helped Scot establish his customer first mindset. Scot is uniquely qualified to exceed customer service expectations; having been both a customer and golf operator.
Jay Warnock: Vice President of Golf18 Network
Jay manages the Golf18 sales team and has over 11 years experience in the area of online tee time distribution and golf marketing services. Jay started with the Golf18 Network in 2011 and was promoted to Director of Sales shortly thereafter. He started his career in golf with GolfSwitch/GolfHub and was involved in the initial development of how the online tee time business was created and marketed. Jay was the Regional Sales Manager for all of Canada and the West Coast. He was also responsible for developing one of the first online tee time affiliate programs in the country. Jay brings a unique knowledge of the golf industry and has been invited to speak to golf groups and associations on such areas as: Tee Time Marketing, Online Tee Time Distribution, Yield Management and Tee Time Affiliate Programs.
Robert Gryta: Vice President of Sales
Robert is a high-tech and professional sales management veteran with extensive experience in growing businesses. Prior to joining CourseTrends, Robert led the expansion of Legiant and ADI Time, a time and attendance software company partnership based in Austin, Texas and Warwick RI, as the Vice President of Sales and then also as Vice President of Business Development. Prior to Legiant, Robert served as the Director of Corporate Sales & Director of Client Services in management roles at Sunset Direct, which provided inside sales and outbound lead generation solutions and support to the high tech industry.
Prior to his tenure at Sunset Direct, Robert had previously worked in various roles at Golfsmith at their headquarters in Austin, Texas in the 1990s and continues today to be a long time avid golfer and a knowledgeable expert within the golf industry. Robert is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Management and Finance.
Stephen W. Bailey: Advisory Board Member
Stephen W. Bailey is a Managing Director at Carlyle primarily focused on small and middle market buyout and growth capital investment opportunities in software, systems and business services sectors. He is based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Carlyle in 2005, Mr. Bailey served as Vice President and head of Corporate Development at Dell. Mr. Bailey is a graduate of Harvard College and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Brian Wood: Advisory Board Member
Brian is the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Observint Technologies, a privately-held company focused on providing world class operations, finance, marketing, and related support services to businesses in the surveillance sector. Observint also owns and operates several surveillance hardware and software companies including Supercircuits, Security Cameras Direct and DIGIOP. Observint's majority owner is the Carlyle Group, one of the world's largest and most diversified multi-product global alternative asset management firms. Prior to joining Observint in 2006, Brian spent 18 years with Dell, Inc., where he held a variety of executive and general management roles including VP/GM of the Dell US Public Sector business and VP/GM of the Dell Large Enterprise business. Prior to joining Dell, Brian was a Lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin and an independent consultant. Brian holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Emory University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
